Times are tough for all of us, and small businesses are really feeling the pinch right now. That's why it is more important than ever to make your business stand out from the rest with the right signage and advertising. You can take care of both of these needs with the right
LED window sign. Our LED window signs are very bright and easier to see from the street. In fact, LED signs are brighter than neon signs and they have virtually no maintenance, unlike neon. Also, your customers will appreciate the fact that your business is "going green" with environmentally-friendly LED signs. LED signs run on approximately 1/10th the amount of power than neon signs use.
Use our LED window signs to catch the attention of passers-by. Let them know that you are open with a sign such as the
Open sign at the top of this post. Use our wide variety of
business LED signs and
restaurant LED signs to quickly and easily let those passing by know what it is you sell. Bright LED signs broadcast your advertising message all day long for just pennies a day.
Advertising is absolutely necessary during a recession. Get your advertising done most effectively with an affordable and eye-catching
LED window sign.

As the old adage goes, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". Nowhere is this more well known than in the ranks of the Small Business during down economic times. Those who have been around a while and have seen the ups and downs, know that times of recession can have just as much opportunity as times of prosperity--it is just a matter of perspective and strategy. You see, those businesses that find their way through a recession will emerge stronger than ever into a marketplace with many fewer competitors. This is the perfect combination for greater market share and future profits!
One of the keys to surviving a down turn and beating out your competition is increasing your advertising and doing it in a cost effective manner. Although often overlooked by many Small Business owners, one of the most cost effective forms of advertising is
Business Signage--especially
LED Signs that put little burden on power costs to run. At
LED Sign Works, we offer a variety of
Business Signs that can be installed in minutes and cost merely pennies a day to operate. And with over a ten year life of nearly
maintenance free operation, this is truly a cost effective way to get a leg up on the competition.
Come visit us at
LEDSignWorks.com and let us help you take advantage of this economic downturn to grab greater market share and ensure even greater future profits!

It's a new year--all signs indicate that 2009 will be a real doozy. There are some small changes that businesses can make this year that will yield big results.
Perhaps the most important of these changes is
making smarter advertising choices. Money is tight, and small businesses need to use their money efficiently. Get the most bang for your buck by advertising with bright LED signs. These signs are a great advertising investment. For a small one-time purchase price, these LED signs will last for up to 10 years of 24/7 use. They are virtually maintenance-free and use very little power. In fact, at LEDSignWorks.com, most of our signs cost about $1.50/month in electric costs to run 24/7, and since most businesses only run their signs a portion of that time the monthly cost is even less. Imagine being able to run an ad 24/7 for 10 years for just pennies a day! That's what you're getting with our highly-visible, professional LED signs. We offer over 1500 signs to suit your needs, and if that's not enough variety for you we offer custom signs as well. Here are just a few of our LED sign categories: ATM, Automotive, Beauty Salon, Motel, Pet, Tanning, Tax, Seafood, Coffee Shops, and more. Animated or Continuous-on, our LED signs really catch attention and bring you more business!
Come check out our huge variety of professional LED signs and make 2009 and beyond brighter for your business!

As we enter the Christmas buying season, we are all feeling the time crunch. Families are busier than ever (and stressed, too), and they want things that make their lives easier. One thing that I appreciate myself is being able to drive by a business and know at a glance whether they are open or not. I don't always have time to turn in and drive up to the window to find out if they are open, so a bright
LED Open sign that can be seen from the street is a big timesaver for me.
Here's an interesting little tidbit for those looking for electronic business signage: the other day I pulled into the parking lot of a strip shopping mall with 4 stores in it. From approximately 500 feet away, I looked and noticed that all of the stores had neon open signs except 1, which had an
LED Open sign in the window. Guess which one was the brightest? Yep, that's right -- the LED Open sign was
by far the brightest of the 4 signs. In addition, the
LED Open sign was animated (the blue border around the red "Open" was flashing). The flashing/animation feature is a useful tool that can be used occasionally are all the time. All of our signs at LED Sign Works can be ordered with a flashing option, and the LED sign then has 3 modes: On (steady), on (flashing), or off. Take the time to order the right Open sign for your business -- a bright, clear LED Open sign from LED Sign Works.

As I drive around town and notice the
electronic business signage that's out there, I am struck by the wide variety of styles available in signage. Some businesses use these various styles to their advantage by hanging signs that are both attractive and easy to read (such as this
LED Open sign). Other businesses go for straight function and buy a simple sign that gets the message across, but in a very bland and unattractive way. For instance, the other day I saw a
"Drive Thru Open" sign in the window of a local fast food restaurant (part of a nationwide chain). This sign was made up of red text only--no border, no other colors, no flashing or animation, nothing. While it got the messag

e across to those who took the time to read it, this LED sign did nothing to draw your attention to it, nor did it give a great impression of the restaurant itself. Hey, if you are going to go to the trouble of purchasing business signage, do it with style! The restaurant in question could have purchased a
"Drive-Thru Open" LED sign such as this one to the right with color and a directional arrow. Choose a readable and
eye-catching LED sign that brings you business and sets the right tone for your store. Style, function,
and results -- now that's good marketing!

Opening a business involves a long to-do list. More than likely, "Buy business signage" is on that list. Many shopping centers have specific requirements for the storefront signage that you use.
Channel letters are fast becoming the number one choice of business owners for their storefront signage. Here are a few tips on choosing the right channel letters for your business:
1. The first thing you need to decide is what type of illumination you want to use -- LED or neon. LED channel letters are much more energy-efficient and have much less maintenance than neon channel letters. Also, LED-illuminated channel letters are light and easier to install than neon. When it comes to how the sign will look, you probably won't notice a huge difference in the look of an enclosed channel letter or a reverse-lit channel letter. Both types of illumination work great for these applications. If you choose an open-faced channel letter design, you will need to choose neon.
2. Your choice of style of your channel letter sign can really set your business apart from the others. Current styles of channel letter signs are front-lit, reverse-lit, front and back-lit, open-faced, and contoured (which you would choose if you want a logo-type design). Here at
LED Sign Works we are able to create any of these sign types to your specifications. As an authorized reseller of the top two channel letter manufacturers in the country, we can bring you the best quality channel letter signs for the best price. If you need to submit artwork to us for your channel letter sign, just e-mail it to us at: custom@ledsignworks.com.
3. The next decision you need to make regarding your channel letters is the height/letter size of your sign. Take a look at the business signage in your area to get an idea of how tall you want your letters to be. Most channel letters are between 12" and 36" in height.
4. Lastly, you need to choose the colors for your channel letters. This is where you need to know some lingo. The "face" color is the color of the front of the sign; the "return" or "can" color is the color of the sides of the sign; the "trim cap" color is the color of the trim that holds the face onto the return of the letter. Translucent vinyl is also sometimes used on the face of the letters to add different colors and designs.
Channel letters are an excellent advertising investment for your business. This is advertising that works for you all day and all night. Bright, clear signage is one of the most powerful marketing tools available. Take advantage of it!

Drive down the street on your way to work, school, or shopping and you will notice many new
LED business signs popping up. We've recently noticed them in places such as restaurants, convenience stores, drug stores, and banks. Indoor LED window signs are effective advertising to passers-by. These LED signs might inform customers of your product and service offerings (such as an
LED shipping sign) or they might simply
remind your customers of a service they knew you offered but had forgotten about. LED signs are also great for crowd control,
ordering instructions, and of course, letting your customers know when you are available (such as with an
LED Open sign).
Animated LED signs are even more noticable and often have different animation and flashing modes.
Another popular choice today is the
LED scrolling sign. These
LED message signs can be for indoor use or outdoor use, and they are a great way to let your customers know about your special offers. We've turned into many stores after reading a good special on their LED sign. Scrolling LED signs are one of the fastest ways to get messaging out to your customers--no waiting for printed flyers, newspapers ads, or mailings.

Welcome to our blog! This is where we will give tips and ideas for using LED business signs. Also, we will showcase businesses that use our signs effectively. (And we might even give some unnamed examples of some things to avoid.)
We recently published a lens on Squidoo.com that talks about how to use business signage effectively. You can read the entire lens here:
Business Signage -- an effective yet often overlooked form of advertising by biz_advisor
Businesses today face stiff competition. Not just competition from similar businesses, but competition from all businesses for the consumer's shrinking buying power. Because of the economic climate we are now in, businesses must become better at using their advertising dollars effectively.
One of the most effective, yet least expensive forms of advertising available to businesses is signage. Yes, signage--that oft overlooked yet critical link from your business to the world outside.
Effective signage lets would-be customers know in seconds what your business has to offer. Simplicity and style matter greatly here, as customers are often in a hurry and don't have time to read long narratives about your business.
Here are some tips on creating good signage:
1.
Size. Make sure you signage is large enough to be seen from the street and down the street a fair distance. Remember, potential customers are usually driving by your store at an average of 40 miles per hour (depending on the street, of course), so your signage lettering must be large enough for them to read it clearly and quickly.
2.
Font style. Again, customers will most likely be driving by your business, so make sure the font you use on your signage is easy to read from a distance and quickly deciphered. I've seen too many businesses try to get fancy with script and other stylistic fonts that are nearly impossible to read quickly unless one is standing still. Don't make your potential customers work too hard to read your signs--chances are they'll just keep moving without giving your business another thought.
3.
Color. The color of both your signage background and lettering is extremely important. Take into account whether the sign is lighted for nighttime use or if it is unlit for mostly daytime viewing. Lit
channel letter signs, for instance, can be very difficult to read in some blue tones (letters can look fuzzy), whereas some white-lettered signs can be difficult to read during the daylight.
Be sure to contrast your signage with the color and texture of the building on which it is placed. I recently saw a large chain discount store change its signage to white lettering on a light beige background and building. It was so hard to read that we actually passed it while looking specifically for this store, and this is a VERY large store so it should have been hard to miss. Again, don't make your customers work too hard to read your signage--you only get a few seconds to catch their attention.
4.
Messaging. Use your business signage to do more than put your store name out there. Some of the latest signage technology allows you to send specific messages to your customers about your services and specials. For instance, LED (stands for light-emitting diode) signage sends a bright, clear, easy to read message to passers-by for just pennies a day in power costs.
LED signage comes in many forms: channel letters to mount on the storefront; scrolling outdoor message signs for streetview messaging; smaller,
scrolling indoor message signs to advertise specials within your store; and small, bright, and sometimes
flashing LED signs with short messages to be displayed in store windows. These signs are environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient and their bright, clear messages leave an almost subliminal imprint of the minds of those passing by. This is a great way to let customers know about your additional services and products.
In the past, too many businesses have overlooked the power of good, effective business signage. When created and displayed properly, your signage gives you permanent, cost-effective advertising that sticks in the minds of your customers and brings new customers inside your store. Play it smart and use your signage to its maximum potential. It just may be the competitive edge you're looking for.
